When I was 10 years old, I was constantly getting sore throats.. at least once a month. My mother often had back pain and would see our Chiropractor regularly. One day I was with her and the Chiropractor said, "let me take a look at him, I think I can help." So I got up on the table, not knowing what he was going to do, and then I heard a loud pop in my neck (the adjustment). He then told me that in the next two to four hours, I would feel some drainage down the back of my throat, and tomorrow I should be a lot better.
Well,
about a couple of hours later, my mother and I were running errands and I felt
the feeling of something sliding down my throat. I remembered what he said and
the next day when I woke up, the sore throat was nearly gone. From that point
on, whenever I was not feeling well, I would go and see him. I didn't understand
at the time how it all worked, but I knew that I did not have to rely on medicine
all of the time to feel better.
As I became more involved in athletics, I noticed that when I got adjusted, not only did I perform better in games and competition, but I also recovered much faster from the muscle soreness.
While playing college baseball, I met the shortstop's father, who was a Chiropractor. Eventually the shortstop and myself went on to Chiropractic College together.
Since
graduating from Life
Chiropractic College West in 1998, I have had the pleasure
of practicing in Arizona. Prior to Chiropractic college, I received my
Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology from California
State University, Chico. I continue to further my education
and stay current with treatment changes and recommendations, via ongoing
post-graduate coursework.
As a Chiropractor, I believe the body has the ability to heal itself, when the nervous system is free of interference and functioning at its optimal level. When a spinal bone (vertebrae) is out of position, it causes this nerve interference. This complex is called Vertebral Subluxation. I adjust these subluxations, correcting the position of the vertebrae and restoring the nerve function.
Unique to our clinic, we include massage therapy following each adjustment. In order to help you recover faster, achieve correction and hold your adjustments better, we also have a rehabilitation area onsite.
If there is one thing that I have learned about Chiropractic from my childhood, it is that the adjustment goes well beyond taking care of the aches and pains. It has a profound impact on life!!
